Water Under the Bridge
The new novel by Rosemary Wilson
About the Book
Lauren and Gervais have been married for over twenty years, and by all appearances, they have the perfect marriage. With a beautiful house, two luxury vehicles, and a smart, athletic son in college, they have every reason to be perfectly content in their lives.
Yet underneath the surface, things are not quite so idyllic: Lauren has panic attacks that she conceals from her husband, and Gervais is dancing on the edge of an affair with an attentive, attractive colleague. And while they work hard to maintain the status quo, it’s becoming increasingly clear that there’s something that Lauren and Gervais are trying very hard not to discuss with one another.
When Lauren fails to return home from work one evening, Gervais is thrown into a panic as the hours and days accumulate. An entire community rallies around the grieving husband, but there are those who suspect that something is not quite right. When compromising emails, text messages, and photos are broadcast on social media by an anonymous source, the innocence of Gervais is called into serious question. Who is sending the emails? Why do they have access to these files? What are they trying to accomplish during Lauren’s mystifying absence? Did she really disappear against her own will—or was it her own choice?
